Well, it has been 8 long weeks since I started CST462. This class was honestly a lot of work and was not what I was expecting. One thing is for sure, though—I learned a lot of valuable skills from the organization I decided to volunteer for. These are skills that I will continue to use in my software engineering journey, and for that, I'm grateful.
In terms of what could have been improved, what was impactful, or challenges I faced, I tend to group these three questions together. Essentially, I had a lot of trouble managing my time this semester with everything else going on in my life, and I consistently felt like I was low on time and late to getting things done.
If I had to do it again, or if I had to mentor someone through what I went through, I would say to really plan things. Make sure to allocate time for everything, create a plan, and stick to it—especially for this class. This class wasn't difficult, but it was full of a lot of busy work. Overall, it was a nice experience and a change-up from the normal classes in this program. I'm glad I went through it, but now I'm glad it's over.
